Overview
In-Optics 2017 to offer the industry further impetus
The ophthalmic and optics industry can look forward to a particularly influential edition of In-Optics in the spring of 2017. While the international trade fair and exhibition has long been a force to reckon with in the region – acknowledged as it is as the Indian subcontinent’s most influential optical industry exhibition – there are a number of factors sure to make the 13th edition stand out more than ever.
The participation of the Luxottica and Safilo brands are major attractions that speak for themselves. In addition, a beeline is expected at the dedicated Chinese pavilion.
The bookings by exhibitors for the international exhibition on ophthalmic optics at the prestigious Pragati Maidan in the heart of New Delhi from 7 to 9 April 2017 have shown great enthusiasm, and by all indications the number of visitors is set to surpass the last edition’s figure of 14,000 (in 2015) by a healthy margin.
While the rapidly expanding optical market globally is throwing up a world of opportunities for the sector as a whole, the Indian optical market is particularly exciting with growing demand across segments and price bands, including the luxury segment that is booming by the day.
The one-stop In-Optics event caters to all facets of the eye care industry – from spectacle frames and sunglasses to all kinds of ophthalmic and contact lenses and related accessories. As the biggest exhibition in the Indian optical sector, In-Optics will be showcasing a very wide variety of the latest fashion eyewear brands including the best international brands, the latest trends and developments from around the world, hi-tech products, instruments and machinery.
Exchanging ideas and keeping abreast of the latest
In a world where changes and advances across all fields are taking place at a galloping pace, learning about new innovations, trends and technology is undoubtedly more crucial than ever before. In-Optics is also the perfect platform for exchanging ideas and thoughts on topical subjects, and for keeping abreast of the very latest in the field.
The SLK Continuing Education Programme, to be held concurrently with the exhibition, has been designed to offer opticians and optometry students the opportunity to stay abreast with the latest trends and developments through exchanges and deliberations by experts in the field.
Invaluable networking and sales platform
In-Optics is firmly established as a vital platform across the industry. Over the last few years in particular, the event has been instrumental to the development of the industry on a larger scale – providing professionals and businesses invaluable exposure to promote their products, launch new concepts, and seek out new business channels and avenues for profitable investment, thereby increasing opportunities to boost sales.
Much is expected of In-Optics 2017 as the event gets set to welcome exhibitors and visitors from around the world at the sprawling Pragati Maidan complex, in Hall No 7 (ABCDEFGH) that spreads over an exhibition area of 10,000 square metres. For professionals in the field this is a must-attend event on all fronts, including great networking opportunities, and more informally, connecting during cultural events and a grand networking dinner.
The organisers
RSD Expositions, the organiser of In-Optics, is a partner company of The Indian Optician, the leading bi-monthly publication dedicated to ophthalmic optics. Its first international trade fair and exhibition in ophthalmic optics was held in 1978. It was launched as INDOPTICA by the late SL Kumar, founder of the magazine, to support and boost innovation, growth and collaboration in the global eye care industry. His son Harish Kumar, who shares his father’s vision for world class eye care in India, has assisted him from the beginning and has ensured that In-Optics’ commitment has not only stayed true to its ideals but has grown for strength to strength and expanded its reach.
